Pagi ini ketika tiba di tempat mengabdi, seperti biasanya saya disambut sebuah salam dari beberapa siswa “Assalamualaikum ustadz, kaifa haluk??” dengan ramah mereka menyapa sambil tersenyum penuh semangat. Spontan saya jawab salam dari mereka ”walaikumsalam, ana bi khair..” tanpa ekspresi, maklum saja hari ini badan saya agak kurang sehat setelah semalam kehujanan.
Astagfirullah, sesampainya di kantor saya jadi menyesal, kenapa sapaan salam dan keramahan senyuman dari mereka tidak saya hiraukan. Hanya karena sedikit capek, menjadikan saya sulit untuk bersikap ramah, bahkan tersenyum saja saya sulit.
Masih terngiang ucapan salah satu rekan saya yang pernah mengatakan “Obat paling murah untuk sebuah penyakit adalah tersenyum”,. Saat itu beliau menasehati seorang rekan yang menampakan muka tanpa tersenyum. Sepertinya dia dalam situasi yang cemas, atau bahkan sedang tidak enak badan. Ternyata kata-kata teman saya tersebut benar-benar saya alami, ketika sedang dalam susasana saat ini, saya menyadari perlu waktu sesaat untuk tetap tersenyum. Dalam sebuah senyum terdapat kekuatan yang menakjubkan untuk menjadikan hati lebih gembira dan jiwa lebih rileks serta dapat menyenangkan hati.
Teringat pula sebuah tulisan menarik dari buku yang saya punya mengatakan bahwa jika kita melihat seseorang tanpa senyum, berikan kepada mereka sedikit senyum yang kita miliki.” Mudah-mudahan orang itu senyum, karena ketika seseorang tersenyum betapapun sedang tidak bahagianya orang tersebut, maka otak akan mengeluarkan sejumlah zat kimia yang tak hanya meningkatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh, tapi sekaligus juga membuat perasaan menjadi tenang, tentram, nyaman dan bahagia atau memberi daya angkat beban jiwa bagi kondisi psikologis seseorang.
Lebih menakjubkan lagi beberapa riset mengatakan bahwa biar pun hanya diinstruksikan menampilkan wajah yang tersenyum, seseorang akan memperoleh manfaat psikologis yang sama dengan orang yang sungguh-sungguh tersenyum.
Dengan kata lain meski hanya berpura-pura bahagia tapi dengan senyuman, orang dapat membuat dirinya menjadi lebih sehat dan bahagia betulan. Inilah yang membuat proses penuaan seseorang menjadi terhambat.Ternyata manfaat tersenyum bagi kita banyak sekali yach… so kenapa mesti takut untuk tersenyum.

Apapun suasana yang sedang kita hadapi, sudah selayaknya kita sisakan sebuah senyuman, seperti lirik sebuah lagu yang dulu pernah saya dengarkan ( maaf saya lupa, lagunya siapa ) : Hadapi dengan senyuman, Semua yang terjadi biar terjadi . Hadapi dengan tenang jiwa, Semua….. Kan baik baik saja…
